The Challenge
Legal clients don’t hire the first attorney they find - they hire the first attorney they trust. When Malveau Law approached DP1 DESIGN, the firm had the credentials and courtroom results to earn that trust, but no digital presence to prove it. Prospective clients researching attorney web design standards in Louisiana would have found competitor firms with polished sites, clear practice-area pages, and prominent credentials - and Malveau Law with little more than a name.
The stakes in legal marketing are unusually high. A person searching for a lawyer is often in the middle of the worst week of their year: an injury, a dispute, a charge, a succession. They are anxious, skeptical, and comparing several firms in a single sitting. A website that looks dated or generic doesn’t just lose a click - it plants doubt about the firm itself. Fair or not, people judge legal competence by presentation.
Malveau Law also had no unified identity to build on. There was no consistent logo, no letterhead system, no business card that matched anything else. For a profession built on paper - engagement letters, filings, correspondence - that inconsistency undermined the firm at every touchpoint. The brief: build a brand with the gravity of the profession, a website that converts anxious visitors into consultations, and a print system worthy of a firm’s letterhead.
Our Approach
Professional-services branding is a different discipline from retail. A salon can be playful; a law firm must be precise. Our strategy phase focused on what makes clients choose one Louisiana attorney over another: perceived experience, clarity about practice areas, ease of contact, and social proof.
An identity with weight. We designed a brand mark and typographic system for Malveau Law that communicates established authority - a restrained palette, a strong serif presence, and a mark that reproduces cleanly everywhere from a website favicon to embossed letterhead. Twenty-five years of brand work has taught us that in legal design, restraint reads as confidence.
A website that answers the client’s real questions. The site was architected around practice areas, each with its own dedicated page written in plain language - what the firm handles, what a client should expect, and how to start. We built it mobile-first on WordPress with the Bricks builder, because a large share of legal searches happen on a phone, often outside business hours. Attorney bio pages carry credentials, admissions, and a professional portrait treatment, because for law firms the attorney is the product.
Findable and verifiable. We implemented on-page SEO targeting Louisiana legal search terms, added Attorney and LegalService schema markup so search engines understand exactly who the firm is and what it practices, and set up an optimized Google Business Profile so the firm appears with reviews, hours, and directions when local clients search.
Nobody hires a lawyer casually. Every element on that site has one job - to make a stressed-out visitor feel they’ve found a firm that has handled this a hundred times before.
Print that closes the loop. Business cards, letterhead, and folder systems carried the identity into the conference room, so the brand a client meets online is the same one that slides an engagement letter across the table.
