The Challenge

Retail in New Orleans lives or dies on brand recognition. Foot traffic is one channel, but the real battle happens on Instagram grids, Google image results, and the split-second a shopper decides whether your storefront looks worth their time. Waltz needed an identity that could carry across a shopfront sign, a hangtag, a tote bag, and a social feed without ever feeling stitched together.

The concept was solid; the visual system was inconsistent. Different fonts on the sign than on the packaging. A logo that read fine at hangtag size and terrible at business-card size. Every touchpoint was leaking equity because none of them agreed with each other.

Our Approach

One system, every surface. We rebuilt the Waltz identity as a coherent system - mark, wordmark, palette, typography, and application rules - designed to look right at ten feet on a storefront and at three inches on a phone. No exceptions, no drift.

Print that respects the product. Packaging, hangtags, in-store signage, and printed collateral - all specified with real-world production in mind. Correct paper stocks, ink formulas, folding tolerances. Design that survives the print shop.

A brand book so the team stays on-brand. A short, useful guide the staff actually reads. Colors, fonts, do’s and don’ts. So the brand still looks like itself six months and six hires from now.

Waltz deserved a digital presence that matched the caliber of what they actually do. That’s the whole job.

Services Used

Waltz project - frequently asked questions

What does a restaurant website need most?

The diner's checklist, instantly: what you serve, what it costs, where you are, and whether you're open right now. Photography does the persuading; Restaurant and Menu schema make sure Google can serve your hours and menu directly in search. Everything else is secondary to those four answers.

How does a new restaurant compete with established New Orleans names?

Through the discovery layer. You won't out-legend the legends, but the map pack, review velocity, and 'near me' searches are meritocratic - a complete Google Business Profile, real photos, fast site, and compounding reviews put a newcomer in front of diners at the exact moment they're deciding.

Does DP1 handle menu changes and updates?

Yes - same-day, usually within hours. Menus, prices, hours, and seasonal specials change constantly in food service, and a stale website actively costs covers. Ongoing management is part of how DP1 works with every restaurant client.
